Steps to register .travel Domain name:

1. All registrants must first be authenticated by an Authentication Provider. Once their eligibility is confirmed the registrant will be sent a Unique Identification Number, which is their proof of eligibility

2. Alternatively, all travel industry businesses and organizations that are not members of an authenticating travel association will be able to complete their authentication for .travel eligibility if they hold a D&B D-U-N-S Number.
   
   What is a D&B DUNS Number?
   The D&B D-U-N-S Number is a unique nine-digit identification sequence, which provides unique identifiers of single business entities, while linking corporate family structures together. D&B links the D&B D-U-N-S Numbers of parents, subsidiaries, headquarters and branches on more than 64 million corporate family members around the world. Used by the world's most influential standards-setting organizations, it is recognized, recommended and/or required by more than 50 global, industry and trade associations, including the United Nations, the U.S. Federal Government, the Australian Government and the European Commission.

3. Once you get authenticated, you would get a UIN (Unique Identification Number), which you need to send to us with the contact details for pre-registration of the domain.

Acronym (Acronyms must be only the first letter of the primary words of he name, not including words such as: the (unless the first word of the name), and, as, of, &, or. Contractions or short forms of words , such as "Chas" for "Charles" or "Bros" for "Brothers" are not permitted as acronyms.

Below are the time frame for the phases of pre-authentication

1. Phase I of pre-authentication has finished.However,domain names for which UIN was allocated before Oct 3rd can still be registered.
2. Phase II of pre-authentication has finished. However,domain names for which UIN was allocated before Nov 2nd can still be registered.
3. Phase III pre-authentication has finished. However,domain names for which UIN was allocated before Nov 26th can still be registered.
4. The phase IV pre-autehtication has finished. Domain names authenticated in that period can be registered as of January 1st, 2006.
5. The full, global launch of the .travel Registry has begun on January 1st 2006, at this point authentication and domain name registrations will take place concurrently and will continue from that date forward uninterrupted.
